EDTC 8372_Using Brisk To Streamline Lesson Planning , Learn to Plan with Ease with Brisk Teaching (Generative AI).

Course Description

This course aims to train 9th – 12th grade teachers working in a public charter school. The training modules will empower educators to use AI tools such as Brisk teaching to support teachers with resources by generating needed materials. These effective teaching tools and functions create meaningful connections across multiple sources of data, and integrate multiple forms of engagement while improving efficiency in lesson planning, grading, and student performance. The project includes comprehensive training modules via Udemy, allowing teachers to develop essential skills in AI integration with Brisk Teaching. Evaluation metrics focus on teacher ability to navigate Brisk. The goal is to create teacher support in the educational environment that leverages AI.

While 76% of teachers already use digital tools daily, only 10% feel very confident with new educational technologies (Gallup, 2019). With this critical statistic in mind, the primary goal of this proposed project is to train teachers on utilizing Brisk AI as a tool for lesson planning. Our proposed training modules will equip teachers with the knowledge, skills, and toolset to confidently navigate and leverage Brisk AI as a digital planning companion. Ultimately, the

secondary impact of the successful execution of this training project is to reduce teachers’ time and stress involved in the lesson planning process.

This course was shared with stakeholders for review and approval processes. Stakeholders reviewed the proposal during scheduled meetings and provided feedback on areas such as course structure and practical application.  The collaborative process ensured that the course is well rounded, relevant and beneficial to its intended audience.  The review and approval for the design involved a collaborative instructor / stakeholder approach to ensure that needs and expectations were met.  Upon incorporating feedback, a review of the updated curriculum was implemented.
