LoRaWAN for Advanced Users , Shared connectivity and high security deployment in LoRaWAN.
Course Description
Setting up a LoRaWAN network is easy. We’ve explained that during the course for beginners “LoRa-LoRaWAN and the Internet of Things“. In this course, we will go further to understand :
- The Join Server, a crucial piece of the LoRaWAN network to reach the highest security level. For our demonstration, we will use Actility Join Server (Thing Park Activation) and The Things Industries Join Server.
- The Roaming functionality : we are going to explain how to share our own connectivity with a partner, and how to benefit from someone else coverage. It could be a private, public or community network operator.
This roaming topic uses the Join Server functionality as well. When these deux topic are mastered, you can set up a secure roaming agreement within a few minutes !!! This lecture is Network Server agnostic and we will make demonstration with Actility, The Things Industries and ChirpStack Network Server. Finally, we are going to explain the two available options to set a a Roaming agreement : peer to peer agreement or global roaming hub. There are two global roaming infrastructures available on the market : Actility Roaming Hub and Packet Broker (The Things Industries).
At Savoy Mont Blanc university, we have our own private network with hundreds of devices connected. So we will take our network as a real example of a LoRaWAN infrastructure and connect several Join Servers with several Roaming agreements.
Who this course is for:
- LoRaWAN users who need to improve their network coverage with private or community network.
- LoRaWAN users who need to improve the overall security of the infrastructure.
