Introduction to Writing with Flourish is an introductory course which will help you with making notes from a piece of text and using those notes to make presentations and write your own texts. The course is useful for anyone who is in education, both as a student and as an instructor. It can also open doors for anyone interested in a new hobby.

This course is broken down into two units, and the first begins with note taking. The method is very simple and you will pick it up very quickly. The next skill is using those notes for giving a presentation. As well as using notes, there are further skills for making presentations before an audience.

Moving on to unit two, you will then work on using your notes to create your own piece of text. You may think that your text is not original because you will be using a source text, but think about musicians when they are learning to play their instruments. As they are beginning to work on the mechanics of the instruments, there is no expectation that they will begin with their own compositions. Why would writing be different? We will begin with texts that are already written since this is a beginners course.
